Snowboarders
What is so fun about falling on your face over and over again? While skiing yesterday, I could not help but notice dozens of snowboarders scattered all over the snowy slopes...on the ground. I am sure that snowboarding must be really fun to do, but if that means breaking or dislocating your limbs to have fun, I would rather be safe and keep my limbs by skiing. This is one reason why skiing is the superior sport.
Maybe it is just me, or maybe it is just the snowboarders I come in contact with, but they seem to be not so bright. When you are getting on the ski lift, there is a sign that says, "WAIT HERE". Even without the sign, you should have enough common sense not to step further or you will get whacked from behind by a chair. Coincidentally, two snowboarders behind us did that and they almost knocked us over because they stole our seat. It seems that snowboarders just think they know everything, and end up looking really dumb when they mess up.
Other than snowboarders not being very bright, what they seem to be the best at is falling all over the place. For skiers like myself, it is very frustrating, especially when they fall right in your path on a narrow trail. Skiing is easier because you have more balance and control of what your body does, but with snowboarders, they just fall, and fall, and fall.
Another thing, is while skiing is the easier sport, it is still very fun. You don't need to go to extreme measures to have a fun time. It is a fun thing to do, even when those snowboarders try to kill you (in more than just one way for me!).
