This week, I'm not analyzing anything, but I am going to let anyone who reads this analyze it for me. This is a poem I wrote today, and even though you might be concerned after you read this that something is terribly wrong with me, I promise you, there is nothing wrong. I just wrote it. And I'd like to hear what anyone thinks, unless you plan to be mean, then I don't like you and don't say anything.

Despair hangs over me like a stormy sky
Flowers seem to fade at my presence
Nothing stays
I am alone in this miserable beautiful world
Accepting defeat to the battle raging inside me
Endless torturing days

Something begins to push me down
Pushing me to the grave I wish to call home
Let me die!
Then I realize it is not forcing me down…
It is pulling me up…
Why?

Above me I see no deception
No selfishness
I see love
Kindness, sacrifice, trust
All these are given to me willingly
All from above

I turn my face away
Too ashamed to accept such compassion
I decline
I tell them to let me be
To let me die in my dreadful lifestyle
I don’t deserve something so divine

One last time, I turn my head
They still stand there
Loyal to the end
They reach out to me, glowing with confidence
I take the hand, knowing I am not alone
Thank you, my hero, my friend

Mini Thoughts for myths and other things
*just some topics I had to "think" about, so whatever
**whoa! did I really get a blog done on a tuesday???

Transformation
There are many different types of transformations in myths, but also in life. One very common one is the change from child to adult. Children are small, immature, weak, and don't understand things as well as others. THrough the course of time though, children become adults: mature, strong, and knowledgable. There are also the transformations/changes people believe in, such as repentance - a change of heart - and in many myths, unmasking beauty or wisdom. Change usually makes things better than they are before, and make people wiser, because we learn what it feels like to live on each side of the transformation boundary.

Trials and Tests
Everyone is faced with trials in their life, and it just depends on how we deal with them that will determine the outcome. This is the case in most, if not all, stories we read/hear. People are faced with situations; some use wisdom, cleverness, and other good qualities and gain rewards for their choices while others become lazy or prideful and do the wrong things, causing them to be punished. These stories teach us lessons on what we should do in certain situations or qualities we should strive to gain.

Naivety and Wisdom
The wise are always praised, it seems, and the naive shunned. Many stories involve a naive person given a task and not knowing what to do. Sometimes the wise come and help them accomplish their tasks and they have learned better, or the naive are then subject to pride and other terrible things. They always have to go through the hardships while the wise people sit back and say, "I told you so." and such things. From difficulties, the naive people gain a little bit more wisdom, even if they are hated by the world and no one will ever talk to them because the gods took away their face because of their vanity, or something like that. But just think about it, weren't the wise once naive as well? I guess the less people know, the more they are expected to live up to.

Thou shalt wipe that malevolent smile off thy face, Chucky Cheese Mouse of Doom

Don't worry, Be Happy!

I think everyone suffers from pessimism. Even people that say they are not pessimistic suffer from it. Whenever something goes wrong, we think negative thoughts, like "it will never get better" or "now I have to deal with this before anything will get better, if it even will." Though many people can avoid this, it happens every once in a while.

People complain about the smallest things, "These shoes hurt really bad!" or "My parents grounded me, (grumble grumble)" or "I'm so hungry! I'm going to die!" First you have to think, whose fault are those things? Yours! If your shoes hurt, get new ones. If you are hungry, go eat! There's no point in starving yourself.

You see, no one likes a pessimist. Well, they might, but they can get annoyed easily by someone who always complains. (Do I sound like a hypocrite here? I'm sorry.) This is just one of the many reasons why it is so much better to be an optimist. People will like you better.

Another thing that should be tried, if you want to be a happy person, is to make other people happy. Smile at people and just be happy, even if you are not happy and you think your life sucks. But wait, if you are an optimist, then your life will not suck! There you go.

Happiness is good. If you think differently, then think harder, because you're wrong.

My two favorite people in the world

There are many great people in this world. People who have written classics, and people that have recieved awards for their bravery or performances. Then there are just awesome people that should live for much longer than they will/did, such as Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, and Harrison Ford. But this is not about your ordinary awesome actors. I am talking about regular, average people that you might see on the street.

On the other hand, maybe you wouldn't see them there. They have too much good to do for people every day. If you saw them on the street, you would think, "Now why are they not helping some poor depressed person right now?" It is true, these people help millions of depressed people, mostly women, minimize their woes every year.

One always lets the other go first, never complaining, because he has a higher position than the first. But then again, they are equal. We all think they are the same, kind, respectful people, and we should all be more like them. Though they are not as rich as the idols of today, they are loved for their work, and we make it possible that we can help them to keep doing good.

Although they come up with really weird inventions, things I can't bear to think about right now because I am too hungry, they are still incredibly awesome. Yes, I am talking about the two coolest people to ever live... Ben and Jerry.
