Lost: The greatest television show since forever

It seems that the only shows you can find on tv are mindless, pointless, wastes of time. The majority of tv watching is reality and game shows that have no point whatsoever but to rot our brains for an hour. That is why when Lost came along, I took the advantage of watching it, and now I am completely obsessed. It is by far, the greatest television show in history, in my opinion, and it is very addicting.

Lost is about a very diverse group of people that get stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere after a terrible airplane crash. The characters are interesting, because of their differences, and you begin to wonder why these people are the way they are. Of course in the due course of time, you will find out why in flashbacks of the characters' pasts. Things begin to happen, such as they start hearing this creepy noise in the jungle, which knocks down trees, so you want to keep watching it to satisfy your mind with questions that enter your head.

Another reason why it is so great is that there is actually a storyline, which actually goes throughout the series, instead of a different one every hour. Since it has a plot, which keeps going, the audience wants to see what will happen next, so they are sure to tune in for the next week's episode. There has not been an episode so far that I have missed right when it aired, (except for at the beginning, when my family didn't remember what time it was at.) which shows I really really like it.

Other than the cool characters and the great storyline, there is also the soundtrack. Instead of fake orchestration for many shows, Lost has a real orchestra, with great music. It can really give you a feel for the different scenes. One of the songs for example, is played after one of the main characters dies, and the song makes you feel sad and want to cry. I did. My mom even wrote an email to the conductor asking if there was going to be a Lost soundtrack soon.

Also, I have gotten my whole family addicted to it. I saw a preview for it last summer, and decided I had to watch it, because my favorite actor was going to be in it. After my family watched the first episode, we have all been hooked on it, and every Wednesday night, we'd have a Lost-watching party. I told my brother out of the country about it, and he watched it on TV once, and now, I have got him hooked. He just bought the DVD, and is starting to watch them. (I have had Season 1 on DVD for a while now.) Also, I have shown it to several of my friends, and they are all hooked as well, and want to watch it more. Even my friend's mom, who doesn't watch much tv, has gotten addicted to the show as well.

Other than that, they have a great cinemetographer, who makes it seem very real. There are also some very good shots of the scenery of Oahu, Hawaii, where Season 1 was filmed. They have a great director, and great writers, who always make sure they keep the show interesting. They picked great actors for the parts, and it's not just a mindless waste of time. This is why I love Lost so much, and why I am so crazy for it.
